Frank McKinney "Kin" Hubbard

Frank McKinney “Kin” Hubbard (1868–1930) was an American humorist, cartoonist, and newspaper columnist best known for creating the comic strip *Abe Martin*. Born in Indiana, he built his career in Midwestern newspapers, developing a distinctive voice rooted in small-town observation and plainspoken wit. *Abe Martin*, set in the fictional rural community of Brown County, Indiana, became widely syndicated and popular for its brief, aphoristic comments on everyday life, politics, and human nature. Hubbard’s humor blended satire with homespun phrasing, often delivering sharp insights in a single line. He remained a prominent figure in American newspaper humor until his death in 1930.
