Fred Rogers
Fred Rogers (1928–2003) was an American television host, educator, and Presbyterian minister best known for creating and hosting the children’s series *Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood*. Born in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, he studied at Rollins College and later earned a Master of Divinity from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary. Rogers worked in television before developing his own program, which debuted nationally in 1968 and ran for more than three decades. Through gentle conversation, music, and puppetry, he addressed children’s feelings and everyday challenges with unusual respect. He was inducted into the Television Hall of Fame and received the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
