Fred Shero
Fred Shero (1938–2010) was a Canadian professional ice hockey coach and general manager. He is best known for coaching the Philadelphia Flyers to two Stanley Cup championships in the 1970s, helping define the team’s identity during that era. Shero later served as head coach of the New York Rangers and also worked as a general manager in the NHL. Over his career he became known for his leadership style and for guiding teams through high-pressure playoff runs. Shero’s influence on modern coaching is often noted in discussions of the Flyers’ championship years. He died in 2010.
