G. B. Trudeau

Garry B. Trudeau (born July 21, 1948) is an American cartoonist best known as the creator of the comic strip *Doonesbury*. First published in 1970, the strip became known for its satirical take on American politics and social issues. Trudeau studied at Yale University, where he drew the strip’s precursor, *Bull Tales*. He has received major honors for his work, including the Pulitzer Prize for Editorial Cartooning (1975) and multiple Emmy Awards for television projects. In addition to *Doonesbury*, he created the political satire series *Tanner ’88* and has contributed commentary through comics and other media for decades.
