G. K. Chesterton
G.K. Chesterton was born in London and educated at St. Paul’s School. He then attended Slade School of Art to become an illustrator but did not complete a degree. While he had a great talent in art, Chesterton ultimately became a writer, penning many books on literature, art, Christianity, and philosophy, as well as many works of fiction. He also published numerous poems, plays, essays, and short stories. Chesterton’s writings were full of wit, paradoxes, and parables, and Time magazine called him “a man of colossal genius.” Chesterton died of congestive heart failure at age 62 at his home in Buckinghamshire, England.
