G. M. Trevelyan
George Macaulay Trevelyan (1876–1962) was a British historian and academic celebrated for influential narratives of English history. Educated at Harrow and Trinity College, Cambridge, he became a Fellow of Trinity and later served as Regius Professor of Modern History at the University of Cambridge (1927–1940) and Master of Trinity College (1940–1951). Trevelyan wrote widely read works including *Garibaldi and the Thousand* (1909), *English Social History* (1942), and *A Shortened History of England* (1942).
