Garrison Keillor

Garrison Keillor (born August 7, 1942) is an American writer, humorist, radio personality, and storyteller. He is best known as the creator and longtime host of the public radio variety show *A Prairie Home Companion*, which debuted nationally in 1980 and ran for decades. Keillor also created the fictional Minnesota town of Lake Wobegon, the setting for his popular “News from Lake Wobegon” monologues and several books, including *Lake Wobegon Days* (1985). Beyond radio, he has written novels, essays, and memoirs, and has narrated and performed his work for live audiences and recordings.
