Gayle Tzemach Lemmon

Gayle Tzemach Lemmon is an American journalist and author whose work focuses on women, conflict, and entrepreneurship. She is a senior fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations. Lemmon wrote *The Dressmaker of Khair Khana*, a nonfiction account of Afghan sisters who supported their family through a dressmaking business under Taliban rule. She is also the author of *Ashley’s War*, which chronicles the U.S. military’s Cultural Support Teams and the experiences of women who served alongside Special Operations forces in Afghanistan.
