Gene Tierney

Gene Tierney (1920–1991) was an American film actress and one of Hollywood’s leading stars of the 1940s. Born in Brooklyn, New York, she began acting on stage before signing with 20th Century Fox. Tierney became widely known for her performance in *Laura* (1944) and earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress for *Leave Her to Heaven* (1945).
