George W. Bush

George Walker Bush (born 1946) is an American politician who served as the 43rd President of the United States, holding office from 2001 to 2009. He previously served as Governor of Texas from 1995 to 2000. A member of the Republican Party, Bush is the son of President George H. W. Bush. After leaving the White House, he published the memoir *Decision Points* (2010), reflecting on major decisions of his presidency, and later wrote *A Charge to Keep* (1999), an earlier autobiographical account of his life and values. He has also been involved in philanthropic work through the George W. Bush Presidential Center.
