Gerald Stanley Lee

Gerald Stanley Lee (1866–1944) was an American Congregational minister, essayist, and social critic whose work engaged with the social and industrial questions of the early twentieth century. Trained for the ministry, he became known for public lecturing and for writing that blended religious idealism with commentary on modern business, labor, and mass society. Lee published books including *Inspired Millionaires* and *Crowds*, in which he explored leadership, collective behavior, and the moral responsibilities of wealth and power. Associated with progressive-era currents in American thought, he sought practical, ethically grounded responses to rapid economic and cultural change.
