Groucho Marx

Julius Henry “Groucho” Marx (1890–1977) was an American comedian, actor, and writer, best known as a member of the Marx Brothers. With his painted-on mustache, cigar, and rapid-fire wordplay, he became one of the defining comic performers of early Hollywood. Alongside his brothers, he starred in classic films including *Duck Soup*, *A Night at the Opera*, and *Animal Crackers*. Marx also found success on radio and television, notably as the host of the long-running quiz show *You Bet Your Life*. His sharp one-liners and satirical style left a lasting influence on American comedy.
