H. Ross Perot

Ross Perot was born in Texarkana, Texas in 1930. He was a Boy Scout and made Eagle Scout after 13 months. Perot entered the U.S. Naval Academy in 1949 and graduated president of his class and battalion commander. After serving four years in the Navy, Perot became a businessman, initially working for IBM and later founding Electronic Data Systems. In 1992, Perot ran for president as an independent but lost to Bill Clinton; Perot formed the Reform Party in 1995, and with their nomination, he ran and lost to Clinton again in 1996. Since then, Perot has remained largely quiet on political issues and instead focused on his business activities.
