Howard Ruff

Howard Ruff, born in 1931, is a financial adviser and author. In addition to the investment newsletter The Ruff Times, Ruff has authored numerous books, including Famine and Survival in America (1974), How to Prosper During the Coming Bad Years (1979), Survive and Win in the Inflationary Eighties (1981), and Making Money (1984). Ruff advised investors to invest in gold, silver, and other metals, and to stock a year’s a supply of food to prepare for the event of a hyperinflationary economic depression. Though his popularity fell off in 1980 after the burst of the gold and silver speculative bubble, Ruff saw somewhat of resurgence in popularity during the late-2000s financial crisis.
