Isaac Asimov
Asimov was born to a family of Jewish millers in Russia. His family immigrated to the U.S. when he was three years old. Asimov attended public schools in NYC and graduated from Columbia University with a degree in chemistry, later earning a PhD in biochemistry. Asimov then joined the faculty at Boston University School of Medicine. Over the years, Asimov became one of the most prolific writers of all time, best known for his science fiction and popular science books. Altogether, he wrote or edited in excess of 500 books. Some of his most notable works include the Foundation Series, I, Robot, Nightfall, and The Intelligent Man’s Guide to Science.
