Jackson Browne

Jackson Browne (born October 9, 1948) is an American singer-songwriter and musician whose work helped define 1970s folk rock and soft rock. Raised in Los Angeles, he emerged in the early 1970s with introspective songwriting and a clear, melodic style. His self-titled debut album (1972) introduced songs such as “Doctor My Eyes,” followed by acclaimed releases including *Late for the Sky* (1974). Browne’s *Running on Empty* (1977), recorded largely on tour, became one of his best-known albums. Over a long career he has continued recording and touring, and he has been recognized with inductions into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
