Jim Carrey

Jim Carrey (born January 17, 1962) is a Canadian-American actor, comedian, and author known for his elastic physical comedy and expressive performances. Born in Newmarket, Ontario, he began performing stand-up in Canada before moving to the United States. Carrey rose to fame on the sketch series *In Living Color* and became a major film star with *Ace Ventura: Pet Detective*, *The Mask*, and *Dumb and Dumber* (all 1994). He later earned acclaim for dramatic roles in *The Truman Show* and *Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind*. In 2020, he co-wrote the novel *Memoirs and Misinformation* with Dana Vachon.
