Jo Brand

Jo Brand (born 24 July 1957) is a British comedian, writer, actress, and presenter. Before entering comedy, she trained and worked as a psychiatric nurse, an experience that informed her early stand-up. She emerged on the alternative comedy circuit in the 1980s and became known for her deadpan delivery and socially observant humour. Brand has appeared widely on British television and radio, including as a regular panellist on *Have I Got News for You* and *QI*, and as a presenter on *The Great British Bake Off: An Extra Slice*. She has also written books and performed in acting roles across TV and film.
