Joanne Woodward

Joanne Woodward (born February 27, 1930) is an American actress and producer. She rose to prominence with her starring role in *The Three Faces of Eve* (1957), for which she won the Academy Award for Best Actress. Woodward became a major screen presence in films including *The Long, Hot Summer* (1958), *Rachel, Rachel* (1968), and *Summer Wishes, Winter Dreams* (1973), earning additional Oscar nominations. She also worked extensively in television and on stage. In 1958 she married actor Paul Newman; their partnership lasted until his death in 2008, and they had three daughters.
