Joe Clark

Charles Joseph “Joe” Clark was born in Alberta, Canada in 1939. He graduated from the University of Alberta and then got involved in Progressive Conservative Politics while attending Dalhousie University. At age 28, he ran unsuccessfully for the Progressive Conservatives in the 1967 provincial election. However, Clark was elected to the Canadian Parliament in 1972 and won leadership of the PC Party in 1976. In 1979, at age 39, Clark was elected the Prime Minister of Canada, becoming the youngest person to serve as Canada’s PM. However, his tenure was brief, as he subsequently lost the 1980 election. Today, Clark owns a consulting firm and is a university professor.
