John Guare

John Guare (born 1938) is an American playwright and screenwriter. He is known for plays including *The House of Blue Leaves* and *Six Degrees of Separation*. Guare’s work has been produced on major American stages and is noted for its sharp dialogue, dark comedy, and satirical look at contemporary life. *Six Degrees of Separation*, one of his best-known plays, was later adapted into a feature film.
