John Stott

John R. W. Stott (1921–2011) was an English Anglican priest, evangelical leader, and widely read Christian author. Ordained in the Church of England, he served for many years at All Souls Church, Langham Place, in London, becoming a prominent voice in 20th‑century evangelicalism. Stott helped shape global evangelical cooperation through his leadership in the Lausanne movement and his role in drafting the Lausanne Covenant (1974). He also founded institutions associated with Langham Partnership to support preaching and theological education worldwide. His books, including *Basic Christianity*, combined pastoral clarity with careful biblical exposition and remain influential across denominations.
