John Wayne Gacy
John Wayne Gacy (1942–1994) was an American serial killer. Born in Chicago, Illinois, he became known as the “Killer Clown” because he sometimes performed at community events in a clown costume under the name “Pogo.” Between 1972 and 1978, Gacy murdered at least 33 young men and boys in the Chicago area; many victims were buried in the crawl space beneath his home. He was arrested in December 1978, convicted in 1980 on multiple counts of murder, and sentenced to death. Gacy was executed by lethal injection in Illinois in 1994. Any writings associated with him are primarily prison-related.
