Johnny Vegas

Michael Joseph Pennington (born 11 September 1970) is an English comedian, actor, and writer, best known by his stage name Johnny Vegas. Born in St Helens, Merseyside, he became known for his stand-up comedy and distinctive on-screen persona. Vegas has appeared on television in roles and programmes including *Ideal*, *Benidorm*, and *Still Open All Hours*, and he has been a regular presence on British panel and comedy shows. He is also known for voice work, notably as the character “Dinosaur” in the BBC children’s series *Dinosaur Train*. Alongside acting, he has written for television and performed in theatre.
