Jon Stewart

Jon Stewart (born Jonathan Stuart Leibowitz on November 28, 1962) is an American comedian, writer, producer, director, and political commentator. He rose to national prominence as the host of Comedy Central’s satirical news program *The Daily Show*, a role he held from 1999 to 2015, shaping the show into a major platform for political comedy and media criticism. Stewart has also worked in film and television as a performer and filmmaker, and he has been recognized with multiple Emmy Awards for his work on *The Daily Show*. He later returned to television with *The Problem with Jon Stewart*.
