Josephine Dodge Daskam Bacon

Josephine Dodge Daskam Bacon (1876–1961) was an American author known for novels and short stories, often published under the name Josephine Daskam Bacon. She also wrote under the name Josephine Daskam. Her work appeared in popular magazines and included both adult fiction and writing for younger readers. Among her best-known books is *The Madness of Philip* (1902). She wrote a series of stories featuring the character Smith College Girl, later collected in book form. Daskam Bacon’s fiction often focuses on social manners, relationships, and the expectations placed on women in early twentieth-century America.
