Judy Tenuta

Judy Tenuta (1956–2022) was an American comedian, actress, and accordion-playing performer known for her satirical “Goddess of Love” persona. Born in Oak Park, Illinois, she began performing in Chicago’s comedy scene and gained national attention in the 1980s through stand-up and television appearances. Tenuta released comedy albums including *Attention!* and *But I’m Only a Goddess*, and her act blended one-liners, musical interludes, and flamboyant costumes. She appeared in films such as *The Aristocrats* and *Material Girls*, and voiced characters on television, including *The Powerpuff Girls*. Tenuta continued touring and recording for decades.
