Julianna Margulies

Julianna Margulies (born June 8, 1966) is an American actress. She is best known for playing nurse Carol Hathaway on the television medical drama *ER* (1994–2000; 2009) and attorney Alicia Florrick on the legal-political drama *The Good Wife* (2009–2016). For these roles she won Emmy Awards, and she has also received Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild honors. Margulies has appeared in film and television projects beyond those series and has worked as a producer. Although widely quoted in popular media, she is primarily recognized for screen acting rather than as a literary author.
