Julie Burchill

Julie Burchill (born 3 July 1959) is an English journalist, columnist, and author. She began her career in the late 1970s after winning a writing competition run by the *New Musical Express*, where she became known for sharp, provocative commentary on popular culture and politics. Burchill later wrote for major British newspapers and magazines, including *The Face*, *The Sunday Times*, and *The Guardian*. Alongside her journalism, she has published nonfiction and co-authored novels, including *Ambition* and *Sugar Rush* (with Cosmo Landesman). Her work has attracted both acclaim and controversy for its outspoken style.
