Karen Thompson Walker

Karen Thompson Walker is an American novelist known for speculative, character-driven fiction. She is the author of *The Age of Miracles* (2012), a debut novel about a mysterious slowing of Earth’s rotation, and *The Dreamers* (2019), which follows a sudden sleeping sickness in a California college town. Her work has been translated into multiple languages and has appeared in publications including *The New York Times* and *The Best American Nonrequired Reading*. Walker has taught creative writing and has been affiliated with programs such as the University of Oregon and Columbia University’s School of the Arts. She lives in the United States.
