Katherine Tynan
Katherine Tynan (later Katherine Tynan Hinkson; 1859–1931) was an Irish poet, novelist, and journalist associated with the Irish Literary Revival. Born in County Dublin, she began publishing poetry in the 1880s and became known for lyrical verse as well as prolific fiction and essays. Tynan contributed to newspapers and magazines and moved in literary circles that included leading revival figures. In 1893 she married Henry Albert Hinkson, and she continued to write while raising a family. Her work often draws on Irish rural life, Catholic faith, and domestic experience, and she remained a widely read voice in Irish letters into the early twentieth century.
