Kin Hubbard

Kin Hubbard (Frank McKinney Hubbard, 1868–1930) was an American cartoonist, humorist, and newspaper columnist best known for creating the comic strip *Abe Martin*. Born in Bellefontaine, Ohio, he began working in journalism and cartooning in the Midwest before joining the *Indianapolis News*, where *Abe Martin* became a long-running feature. The strip, set in the fictional town of Brown County, Indiana, paired spare drawings with sharp, aphoristic observations on everyday life and politics, helping make Hubbard a widely quoted humorist. His work also appeared in collected volumes, and he remained associated with the *Indianapolis News* until his death in 1930.
