Lee Grant

Lee Grant (born Lyova Haskell Rosenthal; 1925–2025) was an American actress, film director, and author. She began her screen career in the early 1950s and later became known for both dramatic and comedic roles in film and television. Grant won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for *Shampoo* (1975) and received multiple Emmy Awards for her television work. She also directed documentaries, including the Academy Award–winning *Down and Out in America* (1986). In addition to acting and directing, she wrote books, including a memoir. Over a long career, Grant remained a prominent figure in American screen performance and nonfiction filmmaking.
