Lemony Snicket

Lemony Snicket is the pen name of American author Daniel Handler. Under this pseudonym, Handler wrote *A Series of Unfortunate Events*, the bestselling children’s book series that follows the Baudelaire orphans through a succession of misadventures. The Snicket persona is presented as the series’ narrator and chronicler, known for dark humor, gothic atmosphere, and frequent asides that define and explain difficult vocabulary. The books were widely adapted, including a 2004 feature film and a later television series. Handler has also used the Lemony Snicket name for related works connected to the series’ world and style.
