Leon C. Megginson

Leon C. Megginson (c. 1921–2014) was an American professor and management scholar associated with Louisiana State University. He wrote and taught in areas including management, personnel administration, and organizational behavior. Megginson is widely cited in discussions of organizational change because a paraphrase attributed to him—about survival depending on responsiveness to change—has often been mistakenly presented as a direct quotation from Charles Darwin. His name therefore appears frequently in debates about the origins and accuracy of the popular “adaptability” saying. Megginson’s work is generally situated within mid‑to‑late twentieth‑century management education and applied business scholarship.
