Lionel Blue

Lionel Blue (1930–2016) was a British Reform rabbi, broadcaster, and writer. Ordained in the Reform movement, he became known to a wide audience through regular contributions to BBC Radio 4, where he spoke about faith, ethics, and everyday life with warmth and candour. Alongside his rabbinic work, he wrote books and essays exploring Judaism, spirituality, and personal belief, often drawing on his own experiences and questions. Blue was also a prominent voice in British religious life, valued for making Jewish thought accessible to listeners and readers beyond the synagogue.
