Lloyd Kaufman

Lloyd Kaufman (born December 30, 1945) is an American filmmaker, producer, actor, and co-founder of Troma Entertainment. He is best known for championing low-budget, independent cinema and for producing and directing cult favorites including *The Toxic Avenger* (1984), which helped define Troma’s irreverent style. Kaufman has appeared in numerous film roles and cameos, often in Troma productions. Beyond filmmaking, he has written books about independent film production and distribution, sharing practical advice drawn from decades of experience. His work has made him a prominent figure in cult film culture and a vocal advocate for DIY filmmaking.
