Lou Costello

Lou Costello (1906–1959) was an American comedian and actor best known as one half of the team Abbott and Costello. Born Louis Francis Cristillo in Paterson, New Jersey, he developed a burlesque and vaudeville background before pairing with Bud Abbott. The duo became major stars in radio, film, and live performance, and are especially remembered for the classic routine “Who’s on First?” Costello appeared with Abbott in numerous feature films for Universal Pictures during the 1940s. After the partnership ended, he continued working in entertainment, including solo projects. Costello died in 1959 in Los Angeles, California.
