Louise Fresco

Louise O. Fresco is a Dutch scientist, writer, and public intellectual known for her work on agriculture, food, and global development. Trained as an agricultural scientist, she has held senior roles in research and international policy, including work connected to the United Nations system. Fresco served as President of Wageningen University & Research, one of the world’s leading institutions in agricultural and environmental sciences. Alongside her academic and advisory career, she writes for a broad readership about the cultural, ecological, and economic dimensions of what we eat. Her books include *Hamburgers in Paradise*, which examines food production and consumption in a changing world.
