M. Night Shyamalan

Manoj Nelliyattu “M. Night” Shyamalan (born August 6, 1970) is an Indian-American filmmaker known for writing, directing, and producing suspenseful, twist-driven films. Born in Mahé, India, and raised in Pennsylvania, he studied at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. Shyamalan gained international recognition with *The Sixth Sense* (1999), earning Academy Award nominations for Best Director and Best Original Screenplay. He followed with *Unbreakable* (2000) and *Signs* (2002), and later wrote and directed *The Village* (2004). After a period of mixed reception, he returned with *The Visit* (2015) and *Split* (2016), continuing the *Unbreakable* storyline.
