Madeleine L'Engle

Madeleine L’Engle (1918–2007) was an American writer known for blending science fiction, fantasy, and spirituality in books for young readers and adults. She is best known for the novel *A Wrinkle in Time* (1962), which introduced the Murry family and became the first volume of her Time Quintet, followed by *A Wind in the Door*, *A Swiftly Tilting Planet*, *Many Waters*, and *An Acceptable Time*. L’Engle also wrote numerous other novels, short stories, and nonfiction works. Her writing often explores themes of faith, family, and the struggle between light and darkness.
