Majora Carter

Majora Carter (born 1966) is an American urban revitalization strategist, environmental justice advocate, and public speaker and author. She is known for her work in New York City’s South Bronx, where she helped bring national attention to environmental inequities and the need for community-led development. Carter founded Sustainable South Bronx, an organization focused on linking environmental improvement with local economic opportunity. Through her advocacy and public speaking, she has promoted greener infrastructure, healthier neighborhoods, and job creation in underserved communities. Her work has made her a prominent voice in environmental justice and urban policy conversations in the United States.
