Malcolm Wallop

Malcolm Wallop (1933–2011) was an American politician and rancher who represented Wyoming in the U.S. Senate from 1977 to 1995. A member of the Republican Party, he served three terms and became known for his work on national defense and space-related policy, including advocacy for missile defense initiatives. Wallop also held leadership roles in Senate committees and caucuses during the Reagan-era buildup. After leaving the Senate, he remained active in public policy and conservative advocacy. Raised in Wyoming and long associated with the state’s ranching culture, he maintained a public identity closely tied to the American West.
