Marcin Jakubowski

Marcin Jakubowski (born 1972) is a Polish-American engineer and the founder of Open Source Ecology, an organization that promotes open-source hardware and collaborative, transparent design. He is best known for initiating the Global Village Construction Set, a project aimed at developing a set of essential, low-cost industrial machines that can be built and maintained using openly shared plans. Through his work, Jakubowski has advocated for practical, modular tools and documentation that enable communities to fabricate equipment locally and adapt designs to their needs. His public talks and writing have helped popularize open-source approaches to manufacturing and sustainable development.
