Margot Kidder

Margot Kidder (1948–2018) was a Canadian-American actress best known for playing Lois Lane in four Superman films starring Christopher Reeve: *Superman* (1978), *Superman II* (1980), *Superman III* (1983), and *Superman IV: The Quest for Peace* (1987). Born in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, she began acting in Canadian film and television before moving into Hollywood work in the 1970s. Her other notable screen roles include the horror classic *Black Christmas* (1974) and Brian De Palma’s *Sisters* (1972). Kidder became a U.S. citizen later in life and remained active in film, television, and stage work.
