Matthew McConaughey

Matthew McConaughey (born November 4, 1969) is an American actor and memoirist. He gained early recognition for roles in films such as *Dazed and Confused* (1993) and later starred in *A Time to Kill* (1996), *Contact* (1997), and *Dallas Buyers Club* (2013). For *Dallas Buyers Club*, he won the Academy Award for Best Actor. McConaughey has also appeared in the television series *True Detective* (2014). In 2020 he published *Greenlights*, a memoir and essay collection drawn from personal journals, reflecting on his life, career, and lessons learned. He has also worked as a producer.
