Max Levchin

Max Levchin (born 1975) is a Ukrainian-American entrepreneur and software engineer. He co-founded PayPal, where he helped build key technologies for online payments and security. After PayPal, he continued working in consumer internet and financial technology, later founding Affirm, a company focused on installment payments and credit services. Levchin is known primarily for his work in technology and business rather than as a literary author, but his public talks and interviews are often quoted for insights on startups, product building, and engineering culture. He has also been associated with the broader “PayPal Mafia” network of early PayPal leaders who went on to found major tech companies.
