Michael Bloomberg

Michael Rubens Bloomberg (born February 14, 1942) is an American businessman, philanthropist, and politician. He founded Bloomberg L.P., a global financial information and media company, after working at Salomon Brothers. Bloomberg served as the 108th Mayor of New York City from 2002 to 2013, winning three consecutive elections. His administration emphasized public health initiatives, education reforms, and large-scale urban development. He later sought the Democratic nomination for president in 2020. Bloomberg is also known for major charitable giving through Bloomberg Philanthropies, supporting public health, the environment, education, and the arts.
