Mike Connolly

Michael Connelly (born July 21, 1956) is an American crime novelist best known for the Harry Bosch and Mickey Haller series. Born in Philadelphia and raised in Florida, he studied at the University of Florida and later worked as a newspaper reporter, including on the crime beat. Connelly wrote for the *Los Angeles Times* and shared in the paper’s 1992 Pulitzer Prize for coverage of the Los Angeles riots. His debut novel, *The Black Echo* (1992), introduced detective Hieronymus “Harry” Bosch and won the Edgar Award for Best First Novel. He later created defense attorney Mickey Haller, linking the two series in a shared universe.
