Mike Wallace

Mike Wallace (1918–2012) was an American television journalist and interviewer best known for his work on CBS News’ *60 Minutes*. Born in Brookline, Massachusetts, he began in radio before moving into television, hosting and reporting on a range of news and public-affairs programs. Wallace joined *60 Minutes* in 1968 and became one of its signature correspondents, recognized for tough, persistent questioning in high-profile interviews with politicians, business leaders, and cultural figures. Over his long career he received major broadcast honors, including multiple Emmy Awards, and helped shape the modern television newsmagazine format. He retired from regular reporting in 2006.
